WALKING AND LIVING A CONSISTENT LIFE (PART TWO)

In our last post, we explored the first step to walking and living a consistent Christian life: removing hindrances. Today, we move forward to the next two essential steps that will help you walk faithfully and steadily with God.

Step Two: Accept Discipline

📖 Hebrews 12:5–11 (NLT)

“My child, don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline, and don’t give up when He corrects you. For the Lord disciplines those He loves... No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward, there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.”

Let’s be honest—discipline isn’t fun. It can feel uncomfortable, even painful. Whether it comes through correction, trials, or hard lessons, our first reaction is often resistance. But Hebrews reminds us that discipline is proof of God’s love.

Think about a loving parent. They don’t correct their child out of anger, but out of deep care for their future. In the same way, God disciplines us not to break us, but to build us—to guide us toward holiness, maturity, and purpose.

Discipline may be hard to accept in the moment, but if we endure it with humility and trust, it will shape us into stronger, more faithful believers. Let’s not despise God’s discipline. Let’s embrace it as a divine opportunity for growth and transformation.

Step Three: Put Faith Into Action

📖 Hebrews 12:12–15 (NLT)

“So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees... Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life... Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.”

Once we've removed hindrances and accepted God’s discipline, it's time to live out our faith. This passage calls us to spiritual conditioning—intentional effort to strengthen our walk and help others do the same.

Just like Olympic athletes train for years to compete at their highest level, we too must train our faith muscles. Living a consistent Christian life isn’t about short bursts of devotion—it’s about steady, daily commitment. It's about letting your faith shape your thoughts, choices, relationships, and responses.

And here's the beautiful part: we’re not running this race alone. We are called to support one another, encourage the weak, and guard against bitterness. Our individual walk contributes to the strength of the whole body of Christ.

In Summary

  • Step One: Remove Hindrances

  • Step Two: Accept Discipline

  • Step Three: Put Faith Into Action

These are not just steps—they are rhythms of a life fully surrendered to Christ. A consistent walk with God requires intentionality, humility, and community. But when we commit to this path, we experience the peace, power, and purpose that come with living in alignment with God’s will.

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Let your life speak.
