HOW TO WALK IN VICTORY: KNOW YOUR PLACE IN CHRIST (PART ONE)

One of the greatest reasons believers fail to walk in victory is a lack of understanding of their position in Christ. You cannot live in victory if you think you are defeated. You cannot walk like a conqueror if you see yourself as a victim.

Victory does not begin with circumstances; it begins with identity.

Romans 8:37 says, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”Notice, it does not say we will become conquerors someday. It declares that we are more than conquerors now.

Before we can walk in victory, we must understand a foundational truth: victory is not only about what we do, it is about where we stand. The Bible reveals that every believer has been given a position, and that position determines our power.

So let’s begin with the first truths we must understand if we are going to walk in victory.

First: We Are Seated with Christ

Ephesians 2:6

“He raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.”

This means we are not fighting for victory, we are fighting from victory. Our position is already established in Christ.

When you understand this, your mindset begins to shift. You stop striving and start standing. You stop reacting in fear and start responding in faith.

Second: We Belong to God

1 John 4:4

“You belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory… because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.”

You are not alone in your battles. The One who lives in you is greater than anything that comes against you.

Victory becomes real when you remember who you belong to.

Confidence grows when faith grows, and faith grows when the Word grows.

Third: Our Authority Is in Christ

Luke 10:19

“I have given you authority… over all the power of the enemy… nothing will injure you.”

We do not overcome by our own strength; we overcome by His authority.

This means:

  • We speak the Word

  • We stand on truth

  • We resist the enemy

Authority is not felt; it is exercised. And it is exercised through faith and obedience.

Conclusion

Victory begins when you stop living like you are defeated and start standing like you are redeemed.

When you understand your position:

  • Fear loses its grip

  • confidence rises

  • and the battle changes

Because you are no longer fighting for victory, you are enforcing the victory Christ has already won.

We will continue unpacking this in the next part.
