Nourishing Nutrition: Feed Your Body, Fuel Your Life (Part Four)
Food is more than just fuel; it shapes our energy, focus, and even our spiritual readiness. When we nourish our bodies well, we honor God and better equip ourselves to serve Him and others with strength and clarity.
Key Number One: Balanced Meals
This year, let’s be more intentional about what we put on our plates. Balanced meals that include protein, healthy fats, and carbohydrates help support nutrient-rich, sustainable living. Planning meals ahead, keeping healthy snacks within reach, and limiting empty calories can go a long way toward building better habits.
Proverbs 31:15 reminds us of wise preparation:
“She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family…”
Thoughtful planning is an act of care, for ourselves and those we serve.
Key Number Two: Hydration Is Key
A simple but powerful habit is starting the day with water and staying hydrated throughout the day. Drinking enough water supports every function in the body, and even mild dehydration can affect energy and focus.
Jesus also speaks of nourishment that goes beyond the physical. In John 4:14, He says:
“But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”
As we care for our physical bodies, let’s also remain mindful of our need for spiritual renewal.
Key Number Three: Mindful Eating
Eating slowly and intentionally helps prevent overeating and promotes true satisfaction. This is an area many of us struggle with, I know I do. It takes constant reminders to slow down, enjoy each meal, and eat without distraction so our bodies can properly receive nourishment.
1 Corinthians 10:31 encourages us:
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
Even our eating can be an act of worship.
In closing, remember to nourish your body with balance, hydrate with intention, and honor God with every bite. As we apply these simple principles, we position ourselves for a stronger, healthier, and more purposeful 2026, one habit at a time.
